LEVEL 3-Principles of Safeguarding

The course promotes awareness and sensitivity to safeguarding, enabling learners to identify the types and characteristics of abuse, record disclosure and appropriately share information with the relevant people. This course is designed for all persons, no matter the field that they are directly involved in, to give them the tools and knowledge to make a difference to a vulnerable person’s life. It will also let the practitioner reporting the abuse know how they can safeguard themselves in every day work, while seeking help and reporting the incident identified.

● Safeguarding legislation and guidance

● Indicators of abuse or neglect

● Making judgements

● Roles and responsibilities

● Sharing of information

● Dealing with and reporting of allegations and complaints

Full day(there will be some pre-course reading)

Who should attend

This qualification is suitable for employees, supervisors and managers who have contact with children or adults at risk in their working environment. Also, anyone responsible for overseeing international programmes. This training can be delivered to your teams abroad and carries the same accreditation.

On successful completion, students will be awarded a Level 3 Award in the Principles of Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People or Vulnerable Adults.

Entry Requirements

This qualification is available to learners aged 18 years or over. Learners must have the literacy skills to be able to read and self-learn the reference manual and additional resources.
